Senior Epic Consultant
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Epic Consultant with extensive expertise in Home Health, Hospice, and Inpatient (ClinDoc) modules. This role is ideal for a healthcare IT professional with deep functional and technical knowledge of Epic systems, proven experience supporting ongoing maintenance cycles, and a passion for optimizing clinical and operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design, build, testing, and optimization of Epic Home Health, Hospice, and Inpatient ClinDoc applications.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to analyze business processes and design scalable Epic solutions that enhance patient care and efficiency.
  • Perform ongoing system maintenance, break/fix resolution, and quarterly Epic updates, ensuring minimal disruption to end users.
  • Manage enhancement requests, change control processes, and system upgrades to align with evolving organizational and regulatory needs.
  • Conduct workflow analysis, configuration, and testing for both existing and new functionality.
  • Provide tier-3 application support, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with Epic TS for complex problem resolution.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, configuration decisions, and workflow standards.
  • Mentor junior analysts and guide cross-functional teams through project lifecycles including design, testing, training, and go-live support.
  • Partner with IT leadership to ensure Epic environments remain secure, compliant, and optimized for long-term sustainability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field (required).
  • 8+ years of Epic consulting or analyst experience, specifically within clinical and care delivery applications.
  • Proven expertise in the following Epic modules:
    • EpicCare Home Health – Patient care, scheduling, and billing for home-based services.
    • EpicCare Hospice – Interdisciplinary documentation, compliance tracking, and end-of-life care workflows.
    • EpicCare Inpatient / ClinDoc – Clinical documentation, order entry, and inpatient charting optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Epic quarterly releases, system updates, and enhancement request processes.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and data integrity standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Proven track record of success in fast-paced, multi-facility healthcare environments.

  • EpicCare Home Health Certification
  • EpicCare Hospice Certification
  • EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation or Inpatient Orders Certification
  • EpicCare Inpatient ClinDoc Certification

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) and Epic integrations with external systems.
  • Prior background in healthcare delivery, nursing, or clinical informatics strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading optimization, upgrade, or expansion projects across multi-site healthcare organizations.
