Position Overview: The Business Analytics Leader is the primary owner of the analytics governance, data standards, and insights enablement model. This role is responsible for designing, maintaining, and scaling the analytics operating system that enables consistent, high-quality decision-making across the enterprise.

Serving as the architect for the “Business Logic,” this leader will bridge the understanding of business needs with the knowledge of report development and analysis. Will lead the transition from a slow, reactive “Service Bureau” dynamic to a proactive “Hub-and-Spoke” model where business units define value and logic while the analytics team provides the platform and scale. This is a “ground-up” build requiring a creative thinker, relentless worker who will partner with consultants to stand up the function and then drive internal adoption.

Responsibilities:

  • Foundation Building: Establish, own, and continuously evolve enterprise analytics governance model and operating routines from scratch.
  • Strategy & Playbook: Design and maintain the Analytics Execution Playbook, including standards for data intake, visualization, and insight delivery.
  • Intake & Prioritization: Own the enterprise-wide analytics intake and prioritization process, partnering closely with the PMO to align data resources with strategic project staffing and up-front initiative planning
  • Tooling Strategy: Define and embed standardized analytics processes into core Business Intelligence tools (e.g., PowerBI).
  • Consultant Integration: Partner closely with external consultants to stand up the department, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and long-term sustainability of delivered models.
  • Functional Support: Support functional departments (Finance, Operations, Commercial, Procurement) by providing the frameworks and tools necessary to leverage data for success.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the consistency and accuracy of data practices and reporting across the organization, regardless of which team owns the initial data source.
  • Training & Adoption: Develop and deliver analytics training for business users and executive sponsors to drive a data-driven culture.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the effectiveness of the analytics function through defined KPIs and executive feedback, adjusting frameworks as the business scales.
  • Documentation: Clearly document data governance, standards, and expectations as living artifacts.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, finance, engineering, information systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Functional Experience: Experience designing, operating, or scaling an analytics function or business intelligence department from the ground up.
  • Business Analysis Expertise: Advanced proficiency in core business analysis methodologies, including KPI definition, performance tracking, and the translation of strategic objectives into measurable metrics.
  • Project Management Tool Experience: Proven experience utilizing and configuring project management platforms such as Monday.com or Asana to manage request intake, resource allocation, and initiative execution.
  • Technical Depth: Deep understanding of data management frameworks, governance models, and BI delivery best practices.
  • Scale Mindset: Experience building analytics playbooks, dashboards, and standards used across diverse functional teams.
  • Influence & Coaching: Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Executive Presence: Comfort partnering with senior leaders and consultants to define expectations and reinforce analytical discipline.
  • Execution Focus: Highly organized with strong systems thinking, an attention to detail, and a dedicated work mentality.
  • Independence: Ability to operate independently and proactively in a fast-moving, evolving environment where processes are being built in real-time.
  • Ownership Mentality: Demonstrated accountability for scalable, enterprise-wide outcomes and a commitment to standing up a high-performing function.
