Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced contract Project Manager to lead two of the highest-impact business transformation initiatives, running concurrently. The engagement will begin with a procurement transformation effort, with a second initiative—anticipated to be a Quality Management System (QMS) implementation—ramping up to run in parallel. Specific initiatives and priorities may evolve over the engagement, so we’re looking for a versatile project leader who can adapt and deliver across changing scopes. This role is responsible for driving the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of both initiatives end to end, partnering closely with internal process owners and functional leaders to translate priorities into actionable plans and measurable results. The position is well suited to a seasoned project leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment, navigates ambiguity with confidence, and influences effectively at all levels, from the plant floor to the C-suite.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of two concurrent transformation initiatives, including scope, schedule, resources, and benefits realization—beginning with procurement and adding a QMS implementation that runs in parallel.
- Serve as the project management backbone for each initiative, coordinating workstreams and keeping deliverables on track without owning the day-to-day functional execution, which remains with internal process owners.
- Build and maintain project roadmaps, timelines, and status reporting that translate executive priorities into clear, actionable plans.
- Partner with process owners and functional leaders to drive accountability, surface risks early, and remove roadblocks.
- Develop and apply change management approaches to support smooth adoption of new processes and ways of working.
- Communicate effectively across all levels, ensuring alignment among stakeholders, sponsors, and partners.
- Operate successfully in a dynamic remote environment with shifting priorities, occasionally traveling as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 5+ years of project management experience leading cross-functional initiatives, ideally including business transformation or operational improvement work.
- Procurement experience strongly preferred, so the individual can engage credibly on the primary initiative from day one.
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and driving process improvements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, engaging individuals from frontline staff to executive leadership.
- Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while adhering to timelines.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
