What You'll Do
Bring in New Data Sources
- Onboard new sources into the platform—from SQL Server databases and SaaS applications (REST APIs, ODBC, SFTP/file feeds, and native connectors).
- Build reliable ingestion into the raw/bronze layer with incremental loading and validation.
Build the Medallion Pipelines
- Construct and maintain the pipelines that move data through the bronze ? silver ? gold layers.
- Manage scheduling, dependencies, monitoring, and failure resolution end to end.
Model the Data and Encode Business Logic
- Develop and maintain dbt models in Snowflake across the silver and gold layers.
- Design and build dimension and fact tables for revenue cycle data, including claims, service lines, providers, payers, facilities, and encounters, with correct grain and conformed definitions.
- Translate revenue cycle business rules into maintainable, high-quality transformations.
Manage the Snowflake Platform
- Own day-to-day administration of the Snowflake environment, including warehouses, roles, resource monitors, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
- Keep the platform reliable, performant, and operating within predictable cost and usage parameters.
Implement and Operate Governance & Security
- Implement and maintain platform security controls including RBAC, column-level masking, row-access policies, and audit logging in alignment with architectural standards.
- Protect PHI/PII by design and support HIPAA compliance and audit readiness.
Keep the Data Trustworthy
- Build data quality tests, validation checks, and source-to-warehouse reconciliation processes.
- Maintain lineage and consistent business definitions so the gold layer remains the organization's trusted source of truth.
Support the Team
- Serve as a hands-on technical resource for existing engineers and help elevate the team's modern data engineering capabilities.
What We're Looking For (Core)
These are the capabilities we prioritize most:
- Strong SQL and dimensional data modeling (fact/dimension modeling, grain, conformed dimensions, SCDs, performance optimization).
- Production dbt experience on a cloud data warehouse.
- Hands-on experience ingesting data from SQL databases and SaaS/API sources.
- A security-first mindset when working with sensitive data and least-privilege access.
- A high degree of ownership and the ability to independently operate a modern data platform.
