Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented UX Design Researcher to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in timelining and aligning research efforts, working with qualitative data, and designing and implementing user-centered studies to inform the design of healthcare solutions. You will play an essential role in improving the user experience for patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders by conducting research such as card sorting, surveys, A/B testing, and usability testing. You will also be directly involved in meeting with patients, nurses, and users to gather insights and experiment with control groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timelining and Effort Alignment:
Lead UX research efforts with clear timeboxing to ensure alignment of resources, goals, and timelines across multiple teams. Effectively manage research projects from inception to completion while maintaining efficiency and meeting deadlines.

  • Qualitative Data Analysis:
Analyze qualitative data to extract valuable insights that will guide the design and development of healthcare solutions. Use methods such as user interviews, observations, and open-ended survey questions to understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors.

  • Research Methodology and Experimentation:
Design and execute various UX research methods including card sorting, surveys, A/B testing, and usability testing to gather both qualitative and quantitative data. Lead experimentation sessions, particularly those that involve comparing user experiences against control groups.

  • Patient, User, and Provider Engagement:
Conduct direct interactions with patients, users, nurses, and healthcare providers to capture feedback and validate design concepts. Facilitate meetings, interviews, and usability sessions to ensure that real-world insights are incorporated into the design process.

  • Survey Design and Implementation:
Lead the creation, distribution, and analysis of surveys to collect user feedback on various healthcare products, services, and features. Ensure that surveys are well-structured, valid, and capable of delivering actionable insights.

  • Collaboration with Design and Development Teams:
Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and developers to ensure that research insights are translated into practical design solutions. Advocate for the user by providing evidence-based recommendations to improve product usability and experience.

  • User Testing & Control Group Experiments:
Coordinate and lead usability testing sessions with both experimental and control groups to evaluate the effectiveness of design changes. Analyze the results of these experiments to provide actionable feedback to design teams.

  • Reporting and Documentation:
Provide clear documentation of research findings, including reports, presentations, and user journey maps. Communicate insights in a way that is understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ensure that research is well-documented and that findings are easily accessible for future reference.

  • Metrics and Impact Evaluation:
Track the impact of design changes based on user feedback and research results. Evaluate user behavior and ensure that design decisions are based on solid evidence that directly contributes to a better healthcare experience.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in UX research, preferably within the healthcare industry or with healthcare products.
  • Proven track record of successfully timelining research efforts, managing projects, and aligning them with business goals.
  • Experience with UX research methods including card sorting, surveys, A/B testing, usability testing, and control group experiments.
  • Comfortable working with qualitative data and extracting actionable insights from unstructured information.
  • Strong ability to design and implement surveys, analyze survey results, and interpret A/B test outcomes.
  • Familiarity with healthcare environments, user personas, patient needs, and provider workflows.
  • Ability to work closely with diverse teams, including designers, engineers, and product managers, to ensure research findings are incorporated into the product development process.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present research findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment, with a focus on delivering results within specified timeframes.
